Discover a step-by-step approach to the college search
that helps you find the best fit and simplifies the process.

Educational Advocates works with students and their families to clearly define the culture, learning environment and other attributes of the desired college experience. We offer personalized service in a series of one-on-one and family sessions:

The Assessment. —By gaining insight into student's strengths, interests and goals and evaluating how they interact with the world around them, we develop a personal college profile that students can use to evaluate choices.

The college list. —While others are bogged down with endless view books and web sites, you’ll be narrowing your list based on focused research and interactive discussion facilitated by Educational Advocates.

Essays. —Using creative thinking techniques, we help students develop topics that make a powerful personal statement that will stand out in the minds of the admissions committee. Through writing conferences and multiple revisions, we not only help students craft strong essays, but also inspire them to become better writers.

Recommendations.
—We help students understand what makes a good recommendation and how they can identify those teachers who are ideally suited to providing one. Our process is highly likely to result in recommendations that accurately reflect student strengths and unique qualities.

College Visits and Interviews. —Educational Advocates conducts mock interviews and teaches students how to answer and ask effective questions. You’ll make a positive impression and build an important life skill.

Application Process Coaching. —We provide the structure and organization that enables students to complete their applications without undue stress and anxiety.

Final Selection. —Once the acceptance letters are in, you’ll need to make the big decision. Educational Advocates will help families evaluate the options, including financial aid offers. We also meet with students prior to college orientation to discuss the transition to college.

Exploring colleges is serious work, but should also be a great deal of fun.
